“BWM group created an award winning Master Plan for Travis County.
The American Planning Association honored BWM Group along with Travis County for its Onion Creek Greenway Master Plan at the Awards Ceremony on October 7th in Austin, Texas.
“The national award
winning Brushy Creek Regional Trail and Conservation Corridor symbolizes community-building at its best. It connects three cities, two municipal utility districts and unincorporated areas of Williamson County.
The landscape architect spent more than a year facilitating meetings with six governmental entities as well as two public workshops —to help define the vision for the project.
“The landscape architect gathered input, hosted public meetings, focus groups and workshops with community members, passive recreation interest groups, and park representatives at the city, county and state levels.
The resulting award winning Garey Park Master Plan proposes a blend of passive and active recreational uses that complements the other parks in Williamson County, Texas.
“In order to create interest along the trail, the landscape architect designed limestone transitions in areas.
The transitions occur frequently along the trail for the users to know their where bouts along the trail.
The Brushy Creek Regional Trail attracts approximately 2600 runners, walkers, bikers, and families on any given weekend.
“BWM designed and planned an award winning all inclusive master community plan for King Ranch .
The plan included community parks and trails, conservation and restoration areas, shopping, river frontage, community identity, and many recreational activities.
BWM assisted Williamson County in applying for and receiving a "pilot" grant for a regional parks initiative by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Brushy Creek Regional Trail was designed for recreational uses and as an alternative means of transportation linking residential communities, businesses, commercial retail centers, and existing and proposed parks.
“BWM provided award winning landscape architectural services for the primary entrance area and terminal access roadways.
The plant palette consists of representative Hill Country and Black Land Prairie plantings linked together with large scale waterfalls and areas designated for outdoor wildlife sculptures.
This project won an Honor Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects.
